Census 2020

Now is the time to make yourself count! Your participation in the 2020 United States Census is confidential.

The US Census bureau is bound by law to protect your answers and keep them strictly confidential. In fact, every employee takes an oath to protect your personal information for life!

We want to assure you that the Census does NOT ask citizenship questions. The names and any other information you provide is CONFIDENTIAL and cannot be shared with anyone, not businesses, employers, the President, ICE, no one. It’s 100% safe and confidential!

By filling out the census, you ensure that billions of dollars in federal funds are distributed equally among all states and communities.

This money helps build clinics, hospitals, fire stations, roads, public transportation, parks, and many other things that benefit your family and your community.

In addition, filling out the census helps determine the number of representatives in the congress that your state obtains. When you get the representation you deserve, your voice matters!

I am ready! Where do I start?

Fill out this form so that we can be in contact as a resource for any questions you may have about the Census such as what kind of questions are on it, how to fill it out, and what to answer.

In mid-March, homes all across the country began receiving an invitation to participate in the 2020 Census. Once you’ve received this, you can respond over the phone, online, or by mail.

Who do I include as a part of my household?

  1. Everyone who lives and sleeps in your home.
  2. Anyone born before or after April 1, 2020 regularly residing in your home counts. Example: If you take care of a family member and that family member spends more time in your house than in her house  you have to count her. Just make sure it is not double count. Make plans on who should count them.
  3. April 1 is Census Day because it is the day that everyone counted in responses will be listed. Completing the census is easy, it only takes between 8-10 minutes!

Important Dates

April

Census takers will begin visiting college students who live on campus, people living in seniors centers, and others.

May – July

Census takers will begin visiting homes that haven’t responded to the 2020 census to make sure everyone is counted.

Filling out the census information is so easy and it is our responsibility and right too!

Are you ready?

Remember that your participation means more resources for your family and community!
