Border Residents to Protest Obama’s Deportation Strategy

Families will also Condemn National Democratic Party Leadership for Supporting the Delay to Stop Deportation of Immigrants

PROTEST AND DEMONSTRATION AT El PASO DEMOCRATIC PARTY HEADQUARTERS

WHEN: Wednesday September 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.

WHERE: 1401 Montana Avenue

El Paso, TX /Southern New Mexico- Border residents and members of Border Network for Human Rights (BNHR) will gather this Wednesday September 24, 2014 at the El Paso Democratic Party Headquarters. The main goal of this community action is to question Obama’s deportation strategies and condemn his broken promise of relief to immigrant families thru Executive Action.

Many Latino families and border residents are very disappointed by the political-electoral calculation made by the president and the national leaders of the Democratic Party to delay for several months the announcement of an Executive Action that would provide relief from deportation for millions of undocumented American families. It is now estimated that close to 60,000 families will be separated and deported due to such delay.
BNHR members and border residents believe that the leaders of the Democratic Party in El Paso should take a stronger stand on this issue and make the President and their national leadership accountable for using the separation of immigrant families as an electoral tool.
