#HugsNotWalls event that has become an important symbol of love, hope and resilience  bringing together families from both sides of the border to see, embrace and hug their loved ones. The event is a demonstration of the ties that have held border communities together for hundreds of years but are now blocked by broken and ill-conceived immigration policies and practices that separate families.

The gathering has been held six times in the last three years and has been a time for reflection within our border community and the nation.

The Border Network for Human Rights, founded in 1998, is one of the leading human rights advocacy and immigration reform organizations in the U.S. BNHR has over 7,000 members in West Texas and Southern New Mexico.
