BNHR Exec To Examine Obama’s Human Rights Record In D.C. This Week
Members of the Human Rights at Home Campaign, which includes BNHR, will examine the Obama Administration’s human rights record on Thursday and Friday.
The members will join leading policy makers, practitioners, human rights experts and academics to examine the Obama administration’s human rights record during the two-day high-level human rights conference.
BNHR executive director, Fernando Garcia, will join speakers that include Lisa Crooms, Steering Committee Chair of the Human Rights at Home Campaign, Jamil Dakwar, Director of ACLU Human Rights Program, Maria Foscarinis, Executive Director of the National Law Center for Homelessness and Poverty, Margaret Huang, Executive Director of the Rights Working Group.
HuRAH is a growing coalition of national and U.S. based organizations, including major human rights, civil rights, civil liberties, immigrant rights and social justice groups, calling for the establishment of an effective, transparent and accountable domestic human rights infrastructure.
