**Arizona pushback events: This weekend and next week**

El Paso, TX –El Pasoans are pushing back on the Arizona bill and initiatives to spread it to Texas with the following events. We want to show solidarity for immigrant and Hispanics living with fear in Arizona and to take a strong position in El Paso and in Texas against similar legislation in our communities.

May 1st.- Press conference and protest at the Republican Party Building Office located at 6006 N. Mesa corner with Sunland Park at 12:30 p.m.

May 3rd.- BNHR is working with County Commissioners to present a resolution at the El Paso County Commissioners Court, condemning SB 1070 law in Arizona and calling for a boycott. Commissioners Court starts at 8:30 am.

May 5th.- A group of El Pasoans will turn themselves in at the County Jail to be voluntarily arrested, to send the message: We are Hispanics, Latinos and immigrants and the Arizona law makes us criminals. Will we let racial profiling permeate our law enforcement?

Please join us!
