Together Juntos Caravan tiene como objetivo empoderar a las comunidades a través de la educación, la organización y la participación. Varias organizaciones sin fines de lucro a lo largo de la frontera sur se están uniendo a esta caravana para asegurarse de que nuestras comunidades conozcan sus derechos y puedan defenderlos contra cualquier persona o institucion que abuse de su autoridad.
En 2017 SB 4, la ley que permite a los agentes de la ley preguntar a cualquier persona detenida sobre su situación legal en el país, se presentó en la Legislatura de Texas. La Red Fronteriza por los Derechos Humanos y casi todos en Texas han estado luchando para detener y eliminar esta ley, ya que afecta nuestra economía, nuestra seguridad, daña la confianza entre las agencias policiales y la comunidad y causa separación y deportación familiar. Por favor únase a esta caravana, viajaremos a lo largo de la frontera para educar a la comunidad sobre temas que les interesan. La caravana comienza en El Paso el 30 de marzo. Together Juntos Caravan aims to empower communities through education, organization and participation. Several non-profit organizations along the southern border are joining this caravan to make sure that our communities know their rights and are able to defend them against any person or institution abusing their authority.
In 2017 SB 4, the law that allows law-enforcement agents to inquire anyone they detain about their legal status in the country, was introduced in the Texas Legislature. Border Network for Human Rights and almost everyone in Texas has been fighting to stop and eliminate this law, as it affects our economy, our safety, damages the trust between law-enforcement agencies and the community and causes family separation and deportation. Please join this caravan, we will be traveling along the border to educate the community on topics that matter to them. The caravan starts in El Paso on March 30. The cities the caravan will cover are the following:
